How would you describe your artistic journey since our interview last year?
Adventure of discoveries.
I have had the opportunity to slow down and rethink the possibilities of creating, realising that although Dubai offers no calamity, it essentially is my power to slow down my creativity and redefining how I want Tawahadna to create.
What have you been up to this year? Is there anything that you’ve achieved that your proudest of?
Abundance! We launched around MENA through different film formats, started a live talk show (creative conversations with Stavros), we partnered with Megatronic and started a Digital Music festival, Femme Fest.
I’m proud of all that we have achieved, but mostly recognising my team that puts passion first. Dima Tattan, journeyed through thick and thin and is now partner at Tawahadna with the purest creative intention to support.
I’m grateful that I can attract the right energy and love through Tawahadna.
What are your predictions for the indie artistic community for the upcoming year?
Self-sufficient digital artists. The word community is still a foreign word for the creatives in the UAE, but the opportunity to being an independent artist as expanded exponentially.
Last year, you said that your goal for the year was “I will be recognised as a changemaker in the region and Tawahadna will be recognised as a platform that represents change and positivity in our community”. How’s that coming along?
Personally, I believe that this is happening slowly but steadily, everyday is a surprise and a new discovery of opportunity, but this organic pace has given us stability and built a support system to the Tawahadna dream.
What’s your goal for 2022?
Our goal is to keep growing in the industry, introducing emerging artists and giving people the opportunity to grow, explore and learn about our talented creatives.
